Section name Function Server Configuration The Initial Setup Wizard interface, which the server ran when you first accessed WHM, aided you to properly configure your server. You can use the Server Configuration section to update these configuration options. Support This section allows you to determine how your customers contact you for support, and provides cPanel WHM support for you. Networking Setup This section allows you to configure your server for use on the Internet. Security Center This section allows you to improve security on your server. For example, you can fix insecurities in suEXEC or CGI, or manage SSH keys and users. Server Contacts This section allows you to choose how to contact the server’s administrator. Resellers This section allows you to access a list of your reseller accounts, as well as the Reseller Center interface, in which you can assign new reseller accounts and configure existing reseller accounts. Service Configuration This section allows you to configure cPanel WHM's services and service daemons. Locales This section allows you to manage your server's locales. BackupThis section allows you to create backups of your server’s configuration and content, and schedule automatic backups. You can use backups at a later time to restore data on your server. It is very important to create backup files of all of the information on the server. When you or other users delete files, there is no other method to recover them. Clusters This section allows you to configure a number of servers to share DNS information or WHM configuration settings, and to create a trust key relationship between those servers. System Reboot This section offers two methods to reboot your server. The method that you should use depends on why you wish to reboot the server. Server Status This section allows you to access several lists to view information about your server. These lists are helpful when you troubleshoot hardware or software issues. Account Information This section allows you to view information about specific accounts, your accounts in general, and provides a number of configuration options. Account Functions This section allows you to create new WHM or cPanel accounts, and to manage the existing accounts on your server. Multi Account Functions This section allows you to manage multiple cPanel accounts at one time. Transfers This section allows you to copy accounts from one server to another. ThemesThis section allows you to manage cPanel themes. A cPanel theme is the skeletal frame on which the interface's visual style, or skin, appears. We do not currently support custom theme or localization efforts for WHM. PackagesPackages are limitations on the resources that you allow an account to use. For example, you may specify how much disk space an account can use. The system bundles and saves these limitations so that you can apply them to accounts later. This streamlines the creation of new accounts, because it allows you to sell predefined packages to your cPanel account holders or resellers. DNS Functions This section provides access to basic functions that relate to your server’s Domain Name System ( DNS) data. SQL Services This section allows you to manage SQL databases on your server. IP Functions This section allows you to manage IP addresses on your server. Software This section allows you to manage software that you installed on your server. Email This section allows you to configure and manage how your server handles email. System Health This section allows you to view data about your server's usage, as well as processes that run on the server. cPanel This section allows you to manage features that directly relate to your cPanel customers. SSL/TLS SSL and TLS are cryptographic schemes that allow a visitor’s web browser to communicate securely with a web server. You should use SSL/TLS to protect all of the sensitive data (for example, credit card numbers, or login information) that your server transmits over the Internet. TLS is the most recent version of SSL. This section allows you to perform several functions to help secure your server. Restart Services This section allows you to restart a service (usually a daemon) on your web server. Daemons are small processes that run in the background of your server. Development This section allows easy access to development resources, which include an interface to manage Standardized Hooks. Plugins This section allows you to configure the plugins on your server.

ASUS Z87 ROG Motherboard Roundup: Enter Maximus VI | HotHardware .
ASUS, like the other major motherboard manufacturers, has an extensive lineup of boards that now support Intel’s 4th-generation Haswell processors and come packing the Z87 chipset. There are motherboards in ASUS’ quiver that run the gamut from gaming boards to workstation boards to consumer-focused boards and beyond, but the company seems proudest of its Republic Of Gamers (ROG) line. There are multiple Z87-based ROG boards in the series, and we took a look at three of them that represent a nice variety of form factors and features--the Maximus VI Impact, Maximus VI Gene, and the Maximus VI Formula--and also look at the work that the company has put into developing a robust gaming platform with loads of features and extras to add value in a number of places for gamers, tweakers and modders alike.ASUS ROG Connect AppROG Connect is a tool that lets you adjust settings and overclock your rig from another PC or even a mobile device. There’s a physical ROG Connect button on some of the Z87 boards, and that button is given a dedicated USB port. With the special USB cable (which isn’t included with any of the three boards we were given) plugged in to that port and connected to another laptop or PC, you can use the ROG Connect software to adjust CPU frequencies, voltages, and fan speeds from a secondary machine. On boards with a Bluetooth module, you can even overclock through ROG Connect wirelessly with a mobile device. The app also includes a monitor POST status information and the ability to turn the system on or off, restart it, and even clear CMOS.ASUS Sonic RadarAnother particularly interesting feature is called Sonic Radar, and it’s designed to give you a visual representation of the sounds you’re hearing in a game.
It’s a handy aid to give you a leg up on the competition when you’re in certain environments it’s also a big help to the hearing impaired. Sonic Radar runs over top of a game, so it’s not actually part of the game engine. Anecdotally, we should note that we noticed a drop of between about 15-20 FPS when we ran our Crysis benchmark with Sonic Radar running versus without. Granted, we were hitting upwards of 290 FPS at times (in that test), so percentage-wise that’s not a big deal, but it’s worth noting nonetheless for situations where you have less performance headroom. Finally, just for kicks, ASUS threw in ROG CPU-Z, DAEMON Tools Pro Standard, and Kaspersky Anti-Virus. A lot of people use CPU-Z as a simple, handy system monitor, and ASUS actually included it with the drivers and utilities disc.
Bonus: This version has a custom ASUS ROG skin.DAEMON Tools Pro Standard is for “optical media emulation” in other words, you can use it to create disc images, burn files, extract selected image files, emulate optical discs, and more. Kaspersky Anti-Virus is, well--it’s antivirus software but you knew that.ASUS Bundled SoftwareBut wait folks, those are just the ROG features we haven’t even begun discussing the general ASUS features and software that are on most of the Z87 boards.

Very easy to configure and overclock when you know what you are doing. All the cables are very high quality.Cons: I am VERY upset at the quality of software provided. ASUS AI Suite 3 has a really BAD bug. It has to do with the fan control feature. Before I overclocked anything I just clicked on the auto test fan control speed. THEN the system became unstable. Windows 7 memory dump screens.
I recovered a past stable time and removed the software and everything runs great. So I found a patch. Reinstalled and BAM. The system became unstable. I have since removed it and the system runs great.Other Thoughts: I looked online and I KNOW this is a problem many others are having. ASUS should fix this problem.
Hell should have been beta tested before they release it.Did you find this review helpful? This review is from: ASUS ROG MAXIMUS VI EXTREME LGA 1150 Intel Z87 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Gaming MotherboardPros: Love everything about this motherboard. This is easy due to the ability to switch between different overclocking profiles on the fly which, for someone like me, is perfect. I'm able to maintain such high overclocks at such a low voltage due to all the tweaking features this motherboard has and winning the silicon lottery with my CPU.Cons: I had some pretty big issues when with this board when I first got it. I run 2 x GTX 780's in my system and had to set them up in a strange configuration in order to get them to function properly. This is due to a problem in the BIOS that refuses to recognize a graphics card in slot B2 if there is a card in slot 1(any type of card). I don't know when it was finally fixed but I went through 3 different BIOS updates before it was finally fixed with my 4th update. This was an issue that had been reported from day 1 of this board being launched and it shouldn't take that long to get an update that would fix it.Other Thoughts: KEEP YOUR BIOS UPDATED.
If you don't have the knowledge to do so or just don't don't want to then you probably shouldn't be looking at a board in this price range anyways. This by all means is an awesome board with a ton or features overclocking and enthusiast builders but being just that means that ASUS should have dedicated more time to getting a properly working BIOS out hence the 3 egg rating. Also, I wouldn't recommend using the one touch optimization feature. I tried it out and it gave me a low overclock at a rather high voltage. This board is made for enthusiast users who know how to overclock so you are wasting money to get this board if you don't plan on tweaking the overclock and voltage yourself.Did you find this review helpful? This review is from: ASUS ROG MAXIMUS VI EXTREME LGA 1150 Intel Z87 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Gaming MotherboardPros: -Very easy to overclock-Good interface-Plenty of portsCons: -There are options with the board that are not well explained in the manual. Had trouble at first learning how to use the OC controllerOther Thoughts: Have not tried many of the options available with this board so far, but it runs great and fit nicely in the Thermaltake Chaser MK-1 case. Would have been nice to have more information on the options for the board in the manual1 out of 1 people found this review helpful.Did you? This review is from: ASUS ROG MAXIMUS VI EXTREME LGA 1150 Intel Z87 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Gaming MotherboardPros: The firmware on this thing is really nice. Definitely an improvement. Also wireless AC on the motherboard is a huge plus.
Lastly, can handle high-speed memory. Dropped in 32GB or 2666 MHz memory, and it didn't even bat an eye. Shocking, considering how freakin' picky the Maximus IV Extreme-Z was with memory. Overall, I like it a lot.Cons: Really meant for quad-SLI, which I don't recommend as a lot of games don't have SLI profiles (LIKE TITANFALL) and the performance boost just really isn't worth the money. Now that I'm looking at it, I probably could have gone with a vastly cheaper board.Other Thoughts: Think about if you really need the Extreme board or not.
Having the slots is nice, but when was the last time you've used 6 slots for anything beyond graphics cards? When have you hooked up 10 internal hard drives to a computer? Unless you're a content creator, you probably should get a cheaper ROG board.2 out of 2 people found this review helpful.Did you?

Wired Network Meter 3.1All CPU Meter 1.2System UptimeWeather GadgetWired Network Meter and All CPU Meter can both be found at addgadget.com. System Uptime is on the Microsoft Gadget Gallery. CPU Meter and Network utilization are extremely helpful. Uptime is simply a reminder of how long my system has been up and running and since it consumes miniscule resources I'm fine with it being for the most part useless. The weather gadget is nice to have for practical reasons obviously.i use no gadgets hate them, but i'mma gonna download a couple a give em a try, those seem quite useful.I`m on the same line...I had google desktop installed, but got rid of it...sidebars are nice but firefox can do the same stuffyeah, lol i never installed Google desktop, i like to reduce my windows to the absolute minimum, for instance first thing i uninstall after a Windows installation is Media Center, WMP12 (i use Zoom Player 7.0 which is perfect, and don't forget WMP in W7 won't let you use your own external codecs and steals file type registrations which is annoying), i also uninstall Gadgets support, disable many services etc.i have plenty of memory but anything that's useless is not worth keeping for me, helps stability and provides a smoother experience.Yes, most gadgets are more or less pointless, such as the slideshow and clock. But I've had the network meter and performance monitors give me notice to tasks that I otherwise wouldn't have initially noticed, such as programs which have hung up in memory as well as memory leaks.
Network monitor can be handy if a particular downloader doesn't support telling you your speeds. After becoming so used to having them XP becomes even harder to use.i did install Gadget support today and i'm using Network Meter, it's really useful indeed unlike most gadgets.i know a clock as a gadget would look nice, but i've got the one in the taskbar and it's not using any memory so why bother lol
Buffalo+Plex firmware 1.71-3.65 Andimaginary released - Gadgets Under Construction .
*i*m*g*Long time no see and lots have changed. My second project has taken interesting turns and it needs to remain private for now and both BuffaloTech and the team at Plex have been working hard on features for their products. A new release of the Buffalo + Plex project is overdue and here it is, at last for both Windows and Mac. (Download at the bottom of the project page.) The codename of this version is Andimaginary. I would like to thank Andimaginary Graphics for their support in the website design and hosting.Changes:Buffalo firmware 1.71Plex Media Server 0.9.12FlexGet 1.2.349NASNavi 2.82The skins for transmission Web-control and Shift were updatedAuto-update feature fix and minor bugfixesKnown issues:Sometimes Transmission or Plex didn’t want to start up automatically right after the upgrade for some reason. Clicking “Restart service” or rebooting your Linkstation will resolve that issue and it didn’t surface afterwards. Most of the users must have waited for the Plex update as it introduces some interesting new features.
The Buffalo update is something new, this time they went the extra length to update some of their libraries properly. (Or maybe that was version v1.70 but I didn’t check that.) This means that the optware transmission package didn’t work out of the box, I had to rebuild both versions from scratch. (They would work from /opt because optware has the right openSSL 0.9.8v library but the firmware is upgraded to OpenSSL v0.9.8ze.)I found an issue with the internal auto-updater so upgrading from version “Chris” is not going to work this time. You have to download the new package from the site and install it the regular way. The reason for this is that I’m hosting the auto-update firmware at DropBox and they changed their certificate authority (their certificate provider). The auto-update is downloaded through HTTPS and I’m checking the validity of the certificate. This is for security reasons and I’m not planning to change it.
The issue is that the Linkstation doesn’t have an up-to-date version of valid certificate authorities hence when DropBox changed their provider your Linkstation thinks that the certificate is not valid. I’ve added the new provider’s details into the firmware so this should be OK for the foreseeable future.Oxygen8 gave a set of bugs to fix back in the day daemon tools gadget skins. Some turned out to be “features”, others I could fix. Since he’s such a regular contributor, I’m going to address his concerns here in the blog post.settings.json issue with TransmissionOxygen8 mentioned that when he overwrites settings in the Transmission config file they get reverted back to the original settings upon shutdown or reboot. As it turns out the config file is read during Transmission startup and written at Transmission shutdown so if you change anything in it while Transmission is running, those changes will get lost. You have two options to work around this: either change your settings within the Transmission webpage or – for the settings that are not available on the web interface – shut down Transmission and then do your change.
It will pick up downloading/seeding where it left off so no harm there.Because of this there’s no point in creating a “default” settings, json, you can set it up for yourself without issue. Also, if you remove the settings.json file (while Transmission is shut down), on the next start Transmission will create a default file for you.Transmission spamming into /var/log/messagesThat was a real concern that was pointed out by Oxygen8. I changed the startup settings of Transmission to always set “message-level” to 0, so nothing is written into /var/log/messages anymore. This is the second enforced setting for Transmission, the first one being “umask” set to 0 so you can read/write your files through SMB. I’m not planning to enforce any other settings for now.The FAQ page was also updated to the v1.71 of the rollback firmware if someone wants to roll back to the original Buffalo Linkstation firmware. The source code for the new version was uploaded to the usual place on GitHub.Apologies for the long silence, I bet Oxygen8 already figured out all this before and the comments I received might be out-of-date already. I’m still not planning to do major modifications to the firmware but I’ll keep an eye out for new Plex releases more frequently.2015-09-14 at 00:05Hi Net7,The newer Linkstations have a different firmware. I could download them and open them up but without testing it’s all a shot in the dark.
Even if I manage to put something together, I wouldn’t know if it has any bugs. If someone comes back and says I bricked their Linkstation, there’s no way for me to debug.I’m planning to buy one of the LS220 or LS420 series from the money I get as donation. Currently 15% of this money has come together since last November so it’s going to take some time… Until then, try to ask a friend who understands BASH, Speedy (or Perl) and the Linux kernel (glibc dependencies are enough) to look at the “source code” I put together (link on the FAQ page). If you have a specific Linkstation and a friend like that, you should be able to create your own firmware.– GaryT2015-09-14 at 00:24Hi Mapuo, what an interesting request.I’m a great advocate of IPv6, but the Buffalo Linkstation doesn’t support it on the web interface or in the kernel at all. (At least I didn’t find any clues.) It could maybe be hacked as a kernel module if you can compile a Linux kernel for the ARM with similar settings as the current Buffalo kernel or you could compile a fully built brand new kernel. Then you only have to integrate it onto the web interface…The idea is an interesting project, but I can’t add it to the current one daemon tools gadget skins. The current project focuses on adding Plex as a feature to the Linkstation firmware and fixing a few issues with the original firmware. At one point I was leaning toward overhauling the whole firmware (new kernel, new web interface, etc) but that would have been an enormous undertaking, especially with my limited amount of time. Buffalo solves this by selling newer and newer versions of their NASes with updated web interfaces and new features.
I usually don’t have that kind of money so I hack away in my free time.– GaryT2015-09-14 at 11:42I understand that you have limited time and do the work on the firmware for free (on donations).I have looked into the possibilities to add IPv6 support before and I saw that it should be a matter of compiling the linux kernel with the same settings as the Buffalo did it (and adding the userspace tools for IPv6). But I don’t know how actually to do that.I really don’t care for administration of the IPv6 in the web interface, I think it should be doable in the console (as you kindly already provide SSH access!).I have two (already very old) devices from Buffalo – LS-CHLv1 and LS-WXL and I’m sure when the time comes to retire them I won’t be going to Buffalo again. Most of my concerns with the devices are with the restrictions Buffalo applied to the software on them – no ssh, no way to install transmission or other applications. That is why I admire your effort for adding some more apps and fixing some of the stuff they left. And for the moment that is the only way to prolong the lifetime of those devices and adding IPv6 to the mix would be great. As I can’t do it myself I can only thank you for the current effort! So, thank you!2015-09-14 at 00:30Hi Manish,If stock BitTorrent works for you, that’s a good workaround. It’s worth trying to reset the Transmission settings (Initialize BitTorrent on the webpage or just remove the settings.json file) and start Transmission to see if the settings file gets recreated. There’s also a debug log option on the web interface that gives you additional output in the log file (under _config/_transmission_logs). If none of that helps in any way, it’s possible that I missed something during compiling the new transmission and it SEGFAULTs after a while. I’ll try to test that because that usually doesn’t leave any trace in the log file.– GaryT2015-09-16 at 04:29Thanks mapuo.
I’ve checked the four files, the second process (PID 20846) is the one faulting. It’s peacefully reading and writing a socket than at one point it just dies. Unfortunately the file descriptor for the socket (6) was not opened in any of the processes you sent so I can’t tell what it was trying to read/write.It’s a shot in the dark, but could you please try something? Rename your “transmission” folder and try to restart transmission. It will create the folder structure again but with default settings so your blocklist and torrents are not loaded.
See if that segfaults transmission or not. If it works that way, copy over your torrent (and change any settings that you deem fit) and see if it works. If that doesn’t help, I’m a bit clueless. Another long shot we can do is run an “lsof” before, during and after the strace so I also understand which file descriptor was open when the segfault happened. If that doesn’t help either, we have to call in the cavalry. Do you know how to install optware and gdb for debugging purposes? (I’m not very familiar with gdb but it’s worth a shot. Like the movie “Inception”, we’ll have to go deeper.)Thank you for the kind words about the project.
I agree, if you want something more advanced, you should buy one of the NASs with package managers. Buffalo must be saving a lot of money by not maintaining packages or implementing a package manager so that’s the cost for a cheap NAS.– GaryT

Daemon Tools Gadget: Secret hidden skin? .
*i*m*g*Hi, I was using DTLite4402-0131 and upgraded to DTLite4454-0315I updated because I was looking for a red skin but its not in the newer update. Here's what happened:I was using DT gadget skin 2 (black skin, my version only had 2 choices, white or black skin) and the gadget hung with the spinning circle like it was busy.I tried clicking buttons etc. on the gadget to get it working, and noticed there was now 3 options in the skins, I went to #3 and it was red, had different logos, slightly different button locations (mainly the bottom 4 switched up) and was really cool. It also looked like it had Russian text to the right of drive F:I searched google, youtube, and here to no avail. Wish I had took a screenshot. Where can I get this red skin? Apparently it exists, and was on my previous version of DTLite as I was able to choose it.I'd really like to use this skin! Don't hide it!skin #3 and it was red, had different logos - Yellow lightning bolt instead of blue, slightly different button locations and design (mainly the bottom 4 switched up) and was really cool. It also looked like it had Russian text to the right of drive F:I searched google, youtube, and here to no avail.

Don't hide it!Does no one know or no one care? Also why does DT keep an iso in the virtual drive upon restart when I'm ejecting/unmounting image every time before shutting down or restarting. (Does having a loaded image use more cpu/ram resources?)
